I’ve said this before, but I think Trump sincerely has a clinical obsession with being the center of attention. Multiple sources are saying he’s telling friends he loves the attention he’s getting from the “shithole countries” comment. Deeply disturbing.

To Trump, any attention is good. Making a mark is more important to him than anything. That's why giving him a nuclear button (of any size) is so incredibly dangerous. It gives him the ability to go down in history.

While it certainly is distracting, I think it is more a compulsive reaction to narcissistic wounding. And it seems white supremacy is what gets him the biggest reward.
