Some things should not be left "to the states" to decide.

The right to vote is a constitutional issue. The states, especially in the South, have a rock solid history of violating the constitutional right to vote.

It's hardly new.

I agree. I just get the impression that many voters (including most Democrats) are not aware of the extent of voter purging and suppression going on, particularly via the GOP, so I let his inaccurate framing slide...
-
You have a point. Most people probably aren't aware of our election problems.
-
I was just talking to family about the 2016 election, and they seemed to be oblivious of any problematic factors other than Russia. Not to say that it isn't credible, but I find it surprising that the "liberal" media ignores or downplays the significance of voter suppression.
-
The loudest denialists of the faked primary turned immediately to denouncing Russia with zip evidence. It was staggering.
-
Funny part is that I was trying to defend the Dems WRT voter suppression from GOP, when the irony is that the DNC did the same to progressives in the primary. Seems to have a right to leftward drift. Probably why they don't complain about the GOP doing it when they should...
-
I hear you. Well, big turn out helps Democrats so GOP is more involved in that tactic (*unless DNC is rigging a primary for its owner).

Reports of people who DID vote in every election listed as inactive in AL. This is a back door way of eliminating non-GOP voters. Need to take these states to court.

1st voted in Cleveland when I was 18, decades ago. No vote, had to reregister. Seattle last 37YRS, register, all absentee ballots. I VOTE. Son, school in Virginia, licensed driver. Told he can vote there now. Friend said u reregister YEARLY. Easy 2 suppress. Just wrong.
-
Having to reregister yearly is not the law. It's a violation of the law.
