i keep reading this stuff and thinking they must be talking about a different coates.
I mistakenly fell for this trap two years ago. I had a critique of a very particular statement Coates made, but then I sloppily generalized his lifelong position without fully diving into his full body of work. Doing so changed everything about how I saw even that one statement.
