Atlanta mayoral race shows risks of privileged progressives making perfect the enemy of good https://interc.pt/2BHo0z3 by @ShaunKing
You don’t think Vincent Fort is a progressive? I do. He came in 5th place. That was our time to show up. He got 9,000 votes.

I did and still do. Fort lost because of a bad campaign, lack of organizing infrastructure to help GOTV in black communities and issues that questioned his character. However, we were talking about KLB, were we not?
-
And my article was about how progressives, when we lose, often for running very bad campaigns, make a real mistake to bail out. And that bailing gives us less political power.
@KillerMike & I both backed Fort, but decided bailing was not a viable option. -
Nobody bailed out of Fort's campaign. Fort cut off the roots that helped him get to this point and to be honest, couldn't get you or Killer Mike to give anyone outside the "circle" the time of day. I was trying to get to both of you and blown off. Same thing Fort did.
-
No, my point was not that progressives bailed on Fort. But that far too many progressive, after he lost, bailed on the race. That’s what my article was about. Bailing out when your preferred candidate does not win.

He couldn’t raise $$$. Kasim has the money strapped.
