Seriously. Doug Jones supports 78 of 82 positions, but Roy Moore supports exactly zero of our positions. Roy Moore thinks slavery was great, for fuck's sake, while Doug Jones went after the KKK - that should really be all you need to make a decision in this race.

Except Moore did not say slavery was great. He said family was great. Use truth in your arguments. That's how you get people on your side. Do not make shit up and twist words around. All you had to do was talk about what Jones supports vs Moore.
-
I did not say Roy Moore said slavery was great. I said he thinks slavery was great. Use truth in your arguments. That's how you get people on your side. Do not make shit up and twist words around. All you had to do was read what I wrote.
-
There you go again. No where in anything I read does it show the man thinks slavery was great. No where.
-
Basically the question was “when was the last time America was great in your opinion?” The very fact @RoyMooreSenator (aka Chester the molester) feels it was during a time when AMERICANS were enslaved is f**ked up no matter how u try to spin itpic.twitter.com/ZSTzzJqjBc

Steven Bynum? Leave him behind. He’s trying to spin ignorance and it won’t work.

Democratic candidates who continue to spew neo-liberal policy positions get what they deserve - an unmotivated progressive base and Democratic base who don't turn out. Did the 2016 presidential election teach Democrats anything? U of all people should know better.
-
It taught us that you're not really progressive & that you didn't care enough about real people to compromise. Because of you, people, including my family, have been threatened. Hillary wasn't perfect, but let's be honest, Bernie's record is worse.https://twitter.com/peterdaou/status/939867982158876673 …
-
That is ridiculous - I voted for Clinton in '16. But keep in mind, it was Democratic base voters who didn't vote, in combination with 10% of Bernie supporters voting third party that did Clinton in - both found Clinton uninspiring and unappealing to vote for her.
-
This same pattern was repeated in the
#Atlanta Mayors race. When will Dems get the message that they are not motivating their voters. -
Ok, I misread you, & I apologise. Tbh, I don't need to be entertained by my candidates, I need commitment to service. I voted for Bernie in the primaries to move the Dem platform left. And Hillary DID inspire me & a lot of others-she has led a life of public service.

The liberal purity tantrums are maddening. We all want our candidates to be perfect. They aren't but that's why we stay engaged after the elections to push them that way. Doesn't happen overnight.
-
The "Holding their feet to the fire" theory holds no water. We have proof that their opinions don't change unless you're approaching them w/ a check. Instead of getting angry at purists, why not contact Doug to support Medicare for all / win. Doesn't that make more sense?
-
That's fine to do it that way. My point mainly goes to the folks that do not get everything they want so they refuse to vote for that candidate or use their precious vote as a protest. When that happens we end up with George W and Trump.
-
I'm sure you mean well, but attacking left achieves the same thing as pushing the "Russia" conspiracy... It's a means of avoiding change. Anyone slighting progressives instead of pushing the candidate left is strategically misaligned. We got Bush & Trump from that exact approach.
-
I'm not attacking anyone, certainly not my fellow progressives. But when faced with two options, one a clear mad man and the other, one who is on board w/ most of our agenda, I absolutely don't agree w/ the protest voting.
-
I understand your stance, but the larger issue is corporate Dems both know & are willing to exploit that. The reason both parties are to the right of a majority of Americans is because Dems believe progressives have "nowhere else to go". If you continue, that won't change.
-
I understand your stance as well, and please know I want us to become as liberal and progressive as possible. I just don't think burning the house down every time to incite change is the right approach.
-
Thanks for a civilized chat and let's continue to work together to keep everyone engaged and pols accountable and progressing.
