This is fucking horrible... I’m actually speechless. That kid was terrified and just trying to keep his pants up. And that cop was just waiting for any excuse to unload on him. Disgusting.

He was definitely going to shoot no matter what. He said so several times. Premeditated murder.
-
And he's already been acquitted, after the jury watched that video. How is that possible? I feel like I'm going to vomit.
-
The first jury in officer Slager's trial was deadlocked and they watched the same video we did. I wish I could be surprised that this jury acquitted this officer after watching this video. I put more of the blame on prosecutors and the law than on jurors.
-
They can justify it because he put his hand behind his back. And he told him if he did it again he’d kill him. And he did it. I think they couldn’t get over that enough to convict him. It’s bullshit. That cop but him in a position where he couldn’t help but fail.
-
The cop should've been able to tell the man was unarmed, I could. If I were Daniel, I would've been way too nervous. The cop would've shot me a minute into the video. This is so disgusting. All of these cases are.
-
Yes. Why didn’t they approach the guy while he was on his stomach and cuff him? Why the whole “push yourself up to your knees with your legs crossed and crawl to me” rigamarole? It’s a ridiculous abuse of power.

This is appalling. It is an execution, plain and simple. We need to give this case ample attention because it shows that excessive use of confrontation techniques also kills white people. Unarmed human being is gone because the lack of judgement of a police officer.
-
Police officer Executing a citizen like this is appalling! No way should we normalize this! I’m still shaken to my core.

Watching this was terrifying. If someone was holding a gun to me, and repeatedly threatening to shoot me, I would have trouble focusing and following very specific demands. The officer in the video is a very dangerous man
-
This officer doesn’t belong in this (Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice)profession! He’s scary & Dangerous

Note the cops trying and failing repeatedly to open Room 500 with the keycard for Room 502, which is what they were supposed to be investigating. If they were playing by the same rules they imposed on Daniel Shaver, they'd all be dead face down on the carpet.

I dont know why he reached for his back??? Im trying to look at this objectively....keep your hands in plain sight!!
-
It looked like he was trying to pick up his pants/shorts
-
Well he shouldnt have. The cop gave him clear instructions not to move his hands. My point is that these cases are not always easy to judge. I cant imagine how hard it is to be a cop
-
Yeah he told him to keep his hands in the air “no matter what” and then told him to crawl towards him... so the officer wasn’t crystal clear to begin with.
-
Yes but I really believe it was obviously a horrible idea for him to reach back like that
-
US police training has to stop all of this super paranoid "the gun you can't see kills you" It justifies countless bad police shootings Intentions used to matter know where on the force continuum did Shaver escalate the situation to justify use of deadly force this is a bad shoot
