Short-term, sure. But maintaining integrity will win in the long run, after the GOP has lost all semblance of credibility with pretty much everyone. Beyond that, it's the right thing to do, regardless of political consequences.

I get where you're coming from & I'd say it's true to an extent--I'd vote for a flawed candidate if they're less problematic than the alternative. it's a dangerous form of moral relativism though. We should hold all our politicians to objective standards.

Why do Democrats call for Conyers to step down and Franken to stay? Problematic.

Sexual harassment exists on continuum from sexist remarks to forceable rape. Do all crimes deserve same punishment? Franken patted butts and stole a kiss; Conyers exposed himself & tried to coerce women into sex by threatening their jobs. VERY different in degree + pattern.
