We also had banks and real estate companies red line/block bust the city, which transferred wealth from black citizens, funded the county which has a separate tax structure, & have been denied non-road transit like heavy rail (60’s) and the Red Line.

A tiny portion of that could have changed so many young girls and boys lives by creating a youth center, something for that matter, where these kids can do something have place to go to instead of policing. The institution needs remodeling bad!

Imagine if they put just half of that into those community services instead? It would be a beautiful, thriving, metropolis.

Why are people happy to spend so much money on ‘situations’, but never on actual people.

Thank you. I have been saying this for months. 60% of the city has a median income of 34k in a state whose median income is 76k. Solving the epidemic poverty caused redlining, school2prison pipelines, etc. is the only way to solve this

Why are people still buying into myth of simple fixes & buzz words to change complex issues. Root cause analysis & evidence based legislation.

When we learn? Perhaps, we should build more prisons? Hey this is parallel with sexual harassment assessment not being about sex but control. When the lights come on in the next fifty years maybe we will finally get the affect of economy, education, health, and empowerment.
