Reminds me of the Richard Williams backlash when Venus and Serena first appeared on the tennis circuit.

What you were like 7 when Serena and Venus came up

As a 40 year old man that’s the best compliment I’ve gotten all day. Thank you.

I have yet to hear or read a storyline like this involving white athletes or entertainers who have parents involved in their development.

I disagree with you maybe once per month, and I guess today's the day. LaVar Ball is a bully and a sexist, and his behavior is regularly atrocious. No idea why you're defending this dude. This is a bad hill to die on, Shaun.
-
bully? Sexist? When did he act like either of those two
-
Do you live under a rock?
-
apparently yes, tell me what I've been missing

OK, here's a link for you. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2017/07/28/lavar-ball-goes-sexist-rant-female-aau-referee/520452001/ … I read two articles about a year ago, re: Ball's problems with his sons coaches over the years. It was awful. If I can find it, I'll link it.

That's not bullying. it's actually alright for any parent to invest as much of themselves in their child's activities as needed/wanted.

I’m sorry not trying to be rude he’s cashing in on his children. I’m sure he put his heart into raising his kids but let’s face it he had shoes made that cost more then 300. His ego is ridiculous, he thinks he could beat Michael Jordon
-
His ego has nothing to do with it. He invested time, energy, and parental care into his kid's schooling, training, and kept them focused. If that pays off now good for him. He's not one of my fav persons but no one can deny his focus on his kids upbringing.
-
No paper would print Archie Manning is riding off his kids. He pointed them in the direction of sports and the QB position very early on.
-
True that he did he’s also a better parent just my opinion. Archie was also a respected athlete in his day and didn’t ask for anything in return.
-
You probably never heard about him until a few months ago. If 2 decades of his focus on his kids now allows him to get a financial return that's his right. ...and I'm no fan of his.
-
I agree 100 percent with you your right it’s his right. Also right I’ve never heard of him before I admit
. I’m not a huge fan of his either
-
We agree on his personality, but the LaTime's headline is misleading to say the least. He put his life into his kids. He's not getting a free ride now, he's getting a return on investment.
-
True, I apologize I think it’s the way he puts himself out there you know. Behind closed doors loves his boys but when the cameras start rolling it’s all about him.
