Yes & this is precisely why I don't EVER wanna hear shit from Democrats about: civility compromise bipartisanship post-partisanship grand bargain crossing-the-aisle purity tests ponies donuts finger-wagging third way Republicans are currently forfeiting any of that. Period.

Republicans are the reason these things don't exist. If you have any questions see the last 8 years when they refused to do any of them under President Obama.
-
Right. Thats my point exactly. When Republicans are in power, they demand bipartisanship from Democrats. But when Democrats are in power, Republicans obstructed EVERYTHING while whining about the deficit & the debt.
-
Chicken or egg? Does GOP block because Dems blocked actions, or do Dems block actions because GOP blocked? Dems and GOP should both be ashamed of themselves and each other. There will be no progress unless lawmakers will compromise instead of throwing insults and blocking action.
-
Wrong. COMPROMISE is not a GOAL, it’s a strategy (1 of many possible strategies). And it’s a strategy that should only be used if the compromise would end in an acceptable policy. Example: Muslim Ban. Is a partial ban (3 of the 7 proposed countries) compromise acceptable to you?

And loyalty. It feels like these guys would throw their best friend under a bus if it meant getting their agenda through.

Shaun this isn't constructive. I understand that you're frustrated, I am as well. Statements like this surely cannot adhere to each individual member of the republican party, that's a ridiculous notion. A statement like this leads to lines of argument that make things worse.
-
I think that when the media facing contingent of a political party won’t take a stand on issues they supposedly care about you have to call them on their hypocrisy or loose ground in the arena of debate
-
I agree. What I don't agree with is using Republican to describe it. Sure, these people identify as Republican, but so do a number of people who do hold those values mentioned and I believe statements like Shaun made alienate those individuals making progress more difficult
-
Or maybe it will spur them to stand up and take their party back from these spineless, disgusting, sycophants. Until this supposed contingent you’re championing steps forward gotta call out those who are currently using the name
-
That's a decent angle, however this isn't just a republican problem, it's a money/lobby problem. The reason they're cool with Moore is so they can pass their tax plan easier if he's in office. But I think we'll need to take the parties back to get corporate $$$ out of there.
-
I agree that $$$ in politics is a huge issue that distorts people’s intentions and morals. When it bends them to moral turpitude then it’s the duty of people and the 5th estate to hold them accountable.
