Shaun, why would you do that? With so many dismissive people constantly telling you that you're a liar about racism, why would you turn around and pass the same cold shoulder to the Jews?

This overwhelming callousness about antisemitism on the left is more shocking and hurtful than the antisemitism itself. Sarsour's role in this is ultimately irrelevant. What is relevant is that you're defending her, with total disregard for vast majority of experts and Jews.

Forget Sarsour, even. Look at Jilani's piece yesterday on Israeli mistreatment of Palestinian kids. It is *filled* with the classic tropes of antisemitism. If your answer is "it's true; Israel is bad," how is that any different than those racist people going on about black crime?

We are asking you to listen, at a bare minimum. Your response slams the door in our faces. And I cannot begin to describe how painful and terrifying that is coming from you.

I am a very active listener here. I read and re-read what
@PopChassid wrote. I have fought against antisemitism for years. This does not mean that I will always agree. Let's keep talking. I love and respect Linda. I stand by my words that she is not antisemitic.3 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -
Question, in all seriousness: Do you think a Jew gets to define what is or isn't antisemitic? And, if there is disagreement on that amongst Jews (which, of course there often is) the non-Jew should step down and not engage?

I don't think non-Jews should stay out of it. But I find it appalling that the New School & Jacobin organize a panel like this, which goes to the original point. Why are *these* the individuals invited to address antisemitism? (In this, I think Vilkomerson is far worse than LS.)

I'm gonna jump in and say that while it isn't for non-Jews to tell Jews what is or isn't anti-Semitic, I agree with
@ShaunKing that Linda is NOT anti-Semitic. However, there is def a problem of anti-Semitism on the left and that needs to be addressed.3 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

Maybe
@ShaunKing's dismissal of accusations that Linda is anti-Semitic (a rejection I agree with) hits a nerve for Jewish folks bc of how quickly valid complaints of anti-semitism on the left are dismissed. And that's a larger problem we all gotta work on.3 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

There is valid discussions regarding whether or not Linda is anti-semitic (or engages in anti-semitic rhetoric). I am of the opinion she does the latter, and is possibly the former. But yours - and
@acandidworld's - tweets hit this right on the head. Reflexive dismissal is a prob2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes
A few thoughts. My dismissal was of few words, but it was not reflexive. Never that. I’ve considered this extensively and read half a dozen articles on this, spoken to people, and my conclusion is the same. She’s not antisemitic.

Similarly, I have also considered this extensively, spoken to people (multiple rabbis within my community, community members, etc) as well as read multiple articles and analysis. Come to a different conclusion. Which is fine.

Which, I think, goes into
@PopChassid's original tweet which I was responding to. We all come at Sarsour's work and perspective from different places, based upon our own experiences and beliefs regarding antisemitism.0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
