Shame on the hospital staff for not standing up to law enforcement. As a former ER/Trauma RN, I believe they are complicit in his illegal restraint and should be subject to civil litigation. What you allow, you promote!

You’re absolutely right!! This is disgraceful, it’s bad enough that the “blue line” prevents justice but when it gets to the “white line” one would hope for more, much more! As nurses we have a duty, an obligation to our patients! Shame on them for dropping the ball!!

Our job as healthcare professionals is to be patient advocates, and the “following orders” defense doesn’t hold up when a patient is being forcibly held against his/her will without legal justification.

Exactly! I don’t know how any nurse could EVER accept a patient and care for them under those conditions without doing anything! I’d be hard pressed to keep FROM doing EVERYTHING to change those circumstances! Needless to say, I was never mngmnt’s favorite nurse on staff!

This would be the biggest story in Germany for a week had it happened here. In America almost no one knows his story. There's something fundamentally wrong in America.

The nurse that was falsely detained by a detective received $500,000. Will this man see any justice?

This country should not condemn Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Russia, China, Iran. About human rights abuse. When we justify human rights abuse by police at home.

They are supposed to be the patient’s advocate first and foremost. Law enforcement cannot hold people without charges-that is kidnapping.

Every time I think I've seen the worst behavior...people manage to top it.
