Black and brown communities tithe millions of dollars to those types of pastors. Stop giving your tithe to leaders who work against your interests!

Religion makes people crazy and stupid. Humanity will be better off once it has outgrown religion.
-
We won’t though. It’s a parasite which has grown so advanced that it would be impossible to remove it without killing the host organism.
-
As long as we focus hard on raising sane, rational humans and continue on the track we're on, I'd give religion as an issue and a threat another 150 years tops. As the devout become more isolated they will get louder and more dangerous, but they'll die out eventually.
-
Not everyone who is religious is especially devout though and there in lies the problem. There are still lots of sane/rational people who are casually religious. For them it isn’t a serious belief but more something they do for community/family.
-
True, and they're still problems. However, that isn't remotely as big of an issue as the ones who commit and defend atrocities; the devout. Once start dying out, societal issues will start going with them.
-
I just think that the casually religious enable the devout and you can’t really have one without the other. For instance it’s not uncommon for casually religious parents to raise children who turn out to be much more radical from their religious exposure.
-
I think that you could have casuals without the radically devout. It seems like more of a parasitic relationship than a symbiotic one, the devout benefit from both the numbers and lack of outstanding voice from the casuals and all they get is a bad name.

...and Jesus has nothing to do with the brand of religion that’s been turned out by right-wing zealots for centuries. I think the Knights of the crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, conquistadors, Manifest Destiny, & KKK all evoked Jesus’ name to justify their actions. He’yump.

When you create a religion without facts you will always have some fanatical individuals that warp it into something else

Agreed it has nothing to do with Jesus or Christian faith, but it has a lot to do with the Christian institution which is a friend to white supremacy

This is one of the times I disagree with u. Jesus the Bible and Christianity as practiced by whites was always about white supremacy.

You say that like Christianity isn’t firmly wrapped in WS and Colonialism from it’s very infancy. You’re smarter than that

Absolutely. The Messiah would be the 1st these white supremacists would attack. His aggressive opposition to their hawkish evil would label him a foreign Middle Eastern extremist/terrorist. Peace & blessings upon the noble Messiah
