50 years. The man served nearly 50 years for a rape he did not commit. An abomination. Went in at 19 and is now a senior citizen. The prosecutors knowingly withheld evidence that would exonerate him. DA’s who do this need to go to jail themselves.http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/courts/article_a5e89488-c3e3-11e7-9d36-8fa135429cc3.html …

This is Wilbert Jones. Free at last. He just spent 16,790 days in prison (that's 46 years) for a crime he didn't commit. Police & prosecutors hid evidence that would exonerate him. He was a TEENAGER the last day he was a free man back in 1971.pic.twitter.com/IXvRRgHcLo

Yes it is, a lot of DAs just care about winning over making sure the person is actually guilty. We should have a review process for criminal convictions, if you're wrongly convicted it's nearly impossible to get out. You'd think we'd care about not having innocent people in jail.

Right! Because one overturned conviction every 30 years is an Abomination within itself.. lawsuit money is not enough and it's an insult.. their mission got accomplished at the end of the day...#FuccTheSystem

Yeah lawsuit money can't buy back life. Especially when you go in young and come out old: can't really work, you miss out on having a family, you miss many events, parents likely gone.

You would think when you're convicting someone of a serious crime, you'd be sure they are guilty. The fact that this many people have been cleared, shows there's many more. It's hard to get people out and they can only help a small amount.
