I've had to stop myself from defending him a couple times on here. "Well, he didn't touch the women." "Well, he's admitting it and apologizing" that doesn't stop the fact these women have lived in fear for years, and nobody deserves to have to see CK's probably miniscule junk

highly creepy and I guess a overzealous DA could try for assault charges but I don't think there is a big follow through

There is also the alleged “bathroom push” incident and some of the stories describe him blocking the exit, so possibly something there. But yeah, we’re talking misdemeanors at best, if not outside statute of limitations. The law’s behind the times on this.
-
what do you mean that the law is behind the times? what's changed that the law needs to catch up on? Do people really need to be put into jail for this? I thought momentum is trying to reduce felonies and jail.
-
Yeah for victimless crimes. Social pressure has been toward stronger punishment of sexual offenses for decades.
-
We going to pursue felonies for mardi gras flashing or not closing blinds too? I think those in power have too many skeletons and we need to focus on targeting bigger crimes. Interesting tweet thread nonetheless.
-
Even now, there is often a distinction in why the exposure happened. Here in WA, exposure needs to be obscene knowing it could cause affront/alarm. Blinds are out. IMO, this should be something different b/c of intimidation factor and apprehension caused that more could happen.

Aside from that, your dick is weaponized. The woman is thinking, “What is he going to do next? Is he going to rape me?” Showcasing your penis when it isn’t welcomed is a threat.

If we leave no room for people to atone then what impetus do we have for people to take responsibility for their crimes and offer victims at least some kind of solace?

If these women gave consent its one thing but they didn't which changes the whole dynamic and makes it a crime . Disgusting and evil people who have barbaric traits .

Yes. He’s owned it. The rest is up to the legal system/time. Hopefully LouisCK will now use this lesson in human decency to positive effect.

Wasn't he in the privacy of his own residence? Get up and leave. If masturbating at home is a crime. I am sure they could charge you as well
-
He did this in hotels and comedy clubs.
-
In "his" hotel room, and "his" back stage room. Key word his
-
I don’t think walking into someone’s hotel room implies giving consent to them taking their dick out...
-
But these women probably thought they would get somewhere in their careers if they just deal with it
-
Yeah exactly. That’s coercion, not consent.
