The new "thoughts and prayers" is clearly "if this is true." When conservatives say they'll give gun violence thoughts and prayers, they really mean they won't do a thing. When they say Roy Moore should step down "if this is true" they mean they will wait it all out.

so everyone should immediately be castigated over any allegation? you must find out if true first. it certainly seems true but we must dig deeper. and i've been as hard on roy moore as anyone else in america.
what type of evidence would need to be discovered in an investigation for you to feel it was proven true ?
there must be some basis of evidence we can't just believe everything everyone says, unfortunately.
"If this is true" just means they give zero credence to women's words. It also means, "It's probably true, but we don't care."
