7. In Colorado, neighbors called the police on Devin Kelley because they saw him literally punching his dog right in its face. Police did nothing. For domestic violence, rape, cruelty to animals... Devin Kelley KEPT GETTING A BREAK.

Speaking purely to the animal cruelty portion - animal cruelty laws in TX (& US!) are lax w/ light sentencing. See: https://www.spca.org/law Doubtful his actions met the definition of "torture" or "seriously injuring", and if the dog belonged to him, #9 also wouldn't apply.

Might've even been stopped earlier if animal abuse laws were more strict. There is a huge correlation to evil and animal abuse, and most of these start out as kids abusing animals. This is my world...trying to end animal abuse. This is what we're up against.
