you described MT perfectly! those small towns were taken over by tea party there are only 4 cities and many small towns leaving state legislature a nightmare not represented by majority of sane democratic Montanans

Rural voters still believe that coal, lumber and ranching are the issues they should vote on and that those industries have to be saved and only R’s can do that. Billings still more red due to the energy industry being on its doorstep. Butte votes red for the mining industry.
-
exactly! sadly tho automation & corporate ranching assures their demise if they weren't so boondoggleed by GOP rhetoric they'd be swimming in solar & wind energy profits produced on their lands
-
have you seen multi acre solar farm on I 90 near confluence of Boulder River & Yellowstone river? that's the future!
-
Can't hold on to the past it will only keep you in the past they can see the future it's just that future doesn't represent them don't know why they believe GOP

If you have spent any time in Montana, you’d realize that this is a huge deal.

I lived/played for the Brewers farm team there. Not any blacks back in 97' but they treated me so kind and were great people. Congrats Helena

Great accomplishment considering Montana has 10 hate groups, up from 7 in 2015. Electing women and minorities to key political positions is a good way to defeat them.

Wow—and an immigrant! In Montana!!!
-
I love that you all think we are hicks or something here. The reason you are seeing this is because hardly any black people live here - we don’t see color, it makes no difference to us. Wilmott came here, and he has been nothing but a joy. That’s all.
-
I get what you were trying to say however, saying you don't see color is often insulting. Like a denial of others culture.
-
I don’t deny it exists - I’m just saying Montana is not as backwards as the whole country seems to think - it’s irritating.
-
Nor is
#idaho, but it still has problems. -
I know it does. We were coming back from Vegas, I was sleeping in backseat, my friend was driving (black) and my husband in passenger seat. He got pulled over. The cop actually looked directly at me and said “are you ok ma’am?” As if they kidnapped me. The crime? George is black.
-
Geez. Could be 2017 also.
-
I love Idaho - for the record. It just shocked me. All the states we travelled through and it only happened there.. southern Idaho.
