Yep, had everything from victim blaming “she shouldn’t have stood next to him” to her making a “big deal” about it because he was “joking”.

Yeah, you can't even do that at a strip club. You'll get thrown out.

Agreed. I dont understand why we concede so easily to power & position. Allow it to rule every inch of our thoughts till we lie to ourselves
-
Most of my family is highly authoritarian. They readily yield to power & what they see as "authority" figures. Psychologically predisposed.
-
Interesting. I think a lot of people yield to power because they're financially vulnerable.
-
Would not apply to my family. I fell far from that tree. Always a questioner, church, school, govt. Upsets family. Cats vs dogs, sheep/goats
-
Same here. I think others who want to question and know more get frustrated and take it out on those who actually challenge authority
-
The ones who yield to authority usually don't want the responsibility of independent thought because it requires effort.
-
That's really not always the case. There are a lot of reasons people don't fight back. Getting fired and losing your health insurance, fe.
-
Add that to being raised by an authoritative family that responds to a child questioning authority, with physical abuse.
