Talking about this lad just today. We all assumed his murder would be a huge turning point, because he was so obviously an innocent child.
-
Tamir's murder did me in. Reading cop apologists blame a child for holding a toy gun stirred up rage in me never felt before. Our America.
-
Frustration.
-
This death shone a light on the ones before, when haters made excuses: 'Cop must've been afraid'. Child with toy, in an open carry state.
-
My people are supporting summary executions of unarmed men and children by public servants to we are taught to trust. Over and over.
-
Memories blocked: Tamir bleeds out while cops joke, refuse to allow EMTs to help; cuffing distraught Mom, don't allow her or sis to be w/him
-
Any one with a child who ever played in a park must've felt that moment, no matter what they said later to their friends about it.

While I disagree with players taking a knee and consider myself somewhat conservative that is absolutely disgusting!

May I ask why you disagree?

I just feel like everyone should stand but I understand their reasons for protesting, It is their first amendment right so I am ok with it

They shout racist slurs and all the while wonder why on earth people are protesting.
-
They fully know why. Let’s never forget that.
-
They totally know why - and feel defensive about it. Deflecting instead of "deal w/ it" ... as they like to spout these days.

For those of you who missed it the first time around, we're living in the 1950s again as far as civil rights go. It wasn't a good time.
-
Sometimes it looks more like the 1930s.

... that's the targeted era when they wistfully yearn for

Yes, when American culture was all white and POC, LGBT, and other "fringe" elements could be ignored. No. Not going back. Not ever.

Doesn't it begin to look like they want to undo gains made under FDR ?

I read & RTed this yesterday:https://twitter.com/ProfCAnderson/status/916334863971692545 …

Thanks for that. I was thinking pre-New Deal, but this is so much more accurate.

To me, it seemed dead on. I followed her before I was through reading.
