2. Many wealthy counties across the country have actually cut football programs altogether. BECAUSE OF HEALTH RISKS.

Football was the road into higher education for at least one of my students when I taught community college. He was offered a scholarship 1/

His grades were pretty abysmal (ELL, urban community, etc). Without football he couldn't have gotten into a 4 year school.

don't know about this one. At least in my area, a lot of wealthy private schools have some of the best and biggest programs in the state

I live outside of Portland OR, & youth football here is Huge! As young as 3rd grade! In a wealthy area. I just don't get it.
