A beautiful example of how Sikhs - who endure hate regularly - respond with values of love and compassion consistently.

It makes me terribly sad, but hopeful for the spirit of love that confronts hatred and anger.

Even in Canada. I see that "privileged" bigoted disrespectful behavior is international.pic.twitter.com/Jcn1CFf8TE

Oh yes it's here. I think we can always be deluded into believing the work is done. It's an ongoing challenge knowledge/compassion may cure

Doesn't surprise me, as a Canadian citizen I see plenty of Muslim hate here... and people not knowing Sikh are not the same thing.
-
Not that even if she got his religion correct she be any better. Muslims aren't a hive mind he can't tell a billion+ people what to do.

adding "Canada." at the end, as if to blanket statement the entire country under this persons actions is spreading ignorance

I wish we deserved all the praise we get on twitter (for just not being horrible) Jagmeet did a good thing. The bar is very low.
-
I didn't & have never praised. Just commented on a comment that seemed to blanket. jagmeet acted with great grace
-
Sorry, I was unclear. Speaking as a Canadian, as a country we receive much unearned praise. Jagmeet earned it, just not the whole country.

The patience and love Sikhs have for people who misunderstand them will always amaze me

To add to the positive side of this (how Jagmeet handled it) - his campaign has signed up more members than all of his competition combined.

Not to judge superficially, but when he's called Singh, has a huge turban and a beard like a rainforest, how can you not know he's a Sikh?
-
Singh is not a Muslim name, for one easily fact-checked thing.

Honestly like to know, how does one go their entire adult life without learning the differences between Sikhs and muslims?

No I get it. Glad you have an open mind to learn new things. I'm from small east Texas town, I'd say 98% wouldn't know the difference either
