She was doing her job... fulfilling the oath of being an advocate for her patient while following policy. As a provider, this is horrifying.

Being an Olympian is irrelevant. Being a nurse sticking completely to the letter of the law is what matters
-
Yeah Im with you on this one Ed. I think our "but look they're a good person" culture fucks up, cause we think u need to earn respect of law
-
Different points matter to different people. That she represented our country might matter to some, just as officer represents local govt
-
Right, and I appreciate that, but it's totally unnecessary for the narrative of her rights being infringed. Golden or not, she has rights.
-
I agree with you. But her rights might matter more to more people as Olympian. So it's pragmatic more than how it should be
-
We should focus on getting those people to under stand that everyone deserves equal rights in America. Olympian or "thug"
-
I agree with you. But if her status as Olympian opens more people's eyes to the current state of affairs... that's ok by me

I just read that the person who he was trying to get blood from was not even a suspect but a victim of a head on crash. That is even sicker.

Who was in a medical induced coma because he was burned so bad. That is why there was no way to get a warrant and he was not under arrest.

When the person with the greatest power thinks he is above the law, this is the real "trickle down" effect.

Abuse of power will only get worst under this president. Dictatorship 101- take right away from citizens. We living in dangerous times.
-
Anyone who thinks that they are safe or privileged enough to avoid these types of actions are fooling themselves. We float or sink together.

I can't express enough thanks to you, Shaun, for following up on this. As I said in my previous reply, as a provider, I'm shaken to the core

The police need retraining from the ground up and racists removed from the force. Police look more like paramilitary organizations.
-
Training is a cop out. They need to hire people who have morals and simple basic respect for others. He wouldn't do that to his mom right?

Bad news when a nurse knows the law better than those we employ to enforce it.
-
It is even worse to think that he does know the law and willfully chose to break it because a woman told him NO
