What is her legal recourse here? If the policy was agreed to by the department, shouldnt she have the right to file a suit against them?
-
-
-
Absolutely
-
And regardless of the policy, it actually would have been unlawful for her to comply (see last case here: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jhrm.21261/full …), so yeah.

Sadly violence against healthcare works is seen as Ok, despite the laws. More importantly, if this is how he treats nurses...yikes.
-
Hoping this awful incident does bring more awareness to workplace violence & bullying that nurses & other healthcare workers are exposed to!

Cops don't like being told they are making a mistake. Where are police unions coming to her defense. Mandatory yearly psych evals
-
Not yearly. Extensive evaluation now .... anger management... and weekly follow up at the outset and still fire his thug ass

They gave her 2 options: 1. break the law 2. get falsely arrested, ruffed up & go to jail. Enemy combatants are treated with greater respect

Love how this has gone so viral!
-
Another example of an egregious abuse of power that needed to be exposed!
-
As a former EMT/Paramedic I've worked along side many great cops and support them fully, but I will not put up such egregious abuse of power

This is what happens when your leader gives authoritarians both overt and covert permission to bully at will.

You'd think the Salt Lake City Police Dept would at least have the balls, & decency, to APOLOGIZE. She checked the policy, why didn't cop?

This situation is only getting worse. Cops are more authoritarians than protectors.
-
It's a madness. Now logic is null and void. Just abuse and handcuff anyone who annoys you, even if they aren't breaking the law
-
It is clear anger issues. Officers don't handle pressure situations as they should. It is a problem that no one wants to admit.
-
It's disgusting man. There should be severe consequences every time summink like this happens but instead they're protected
