Don't kick him out of school, just require him to take African & Mexican history classes. You might change his life. Give him a black roomie
-

-
Why? So his roommate can be subject to a racist POS everyday?
-
Living with someone forces you to see beyond stereotypes, and the right roomie will check him when he's out of line
-
So if you were the school, you'd subject yourself to a lawsuit by rooming a black kid with someone known to spout racism against blacks?
-
You would have your kid who is supposed to be at school studying conflict free deal with a racist and the drama that follows? Unwise.
-
I'm speaking from experience . Made both of us nicer people. Also if the roomie feels unsafe, there are emergency transfers
-
Maybe that was your experience. They should revoke his admission. This is kind of person is not what they need at their institution.
-
So you would deny him admission, and give him yet another reason to radicalize?

Dude. This kid NEEDS an education. Why are you trying to discourage that? Wrong tactic.
-
He's about to get one. No Black kid at Texas Tech deserves to have open racism waiting for him this fall.
-
I have no sympathy for racist attitudes. But, how the hell else are their minds going to be changed? You think isolating them is the answer?
-
You have sympathy because you are willing to "maybe" get Brandon to change at the expense of harm that you openly see him espousing.
-
Black people deserve better, period. Stop making excuses for these people it's 2017, he has the internet, he knows that it's wrong already.
-
That's understandable. Whatever does happen with this kid, I hope it has a positive influence on the way he treats people in the future.

He's old enough to know better. It's not his Shaun King's responsibility to teach bigots to be better. Its their parents.
-
Given what's happening, no quarter for racists. Give them an inch and they take a mile. He wanted to air his opinion, well there he goes.

I want to agree with you that kindness and compassion are better routes but they have failed us. 2017, and still there are Nazis.
