My husband = Singaporean. I don't agree w/ everything (past or present) but you gotta admit they take education & governing seriously.

Many of our best public schools are in wealthy neighborhoods where PTO's/education funds can augment public dollars.

It's true that U.S. Education system has many problems but the data you're referring to is almost exclusively standardized test scores.

Funding inequality for poor vs rich schools is much more important. So is school segregation and privatization.

The most recent PISA results, from 2015, placed the U.S. an unimpressive 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. That's subpar
