Shaun, the numbers as reported are pretty disingenuous. This is not far off of most 1st time super hero star deals.

Yeah I just read and Captain America got the same for his first role. She definitely should get more for the sequel
-
It's all good then - she got paid the same amount as a guy 7 years ago, in the early stages of super hero mania.
-
U can find lots of similar deals. Marvel & DC lowball first time stars / unknowns. I think there are a lot of better ways to discuss pay gap
-
Like Henry Cavill?
-
She made like 2% of his salary for the first Superman. Both relatively the same known-ness. We're not talkin a little different... 98% dif.

Superman movie (minus actors) is tried, tested, sure to bring in more $ than WW (minus actors) which had not been tested.
-
Problem isn't who deserved more based on bankability, it's the outrageous disparity in pay for the same job.

Ha! Looking at how much I was paid for a whole season, I can believe it. It's sad and definitely a slap in the face!

Yes, she should. I agree there is a pay gap and based on the performance of WW she should get a raise, but this article is ill-informed.
-
how is there a pay gap when captain america got the same for his first marvel movie????
-
Because they're superhero movies? Again, not a valid comparison. Different studios, agents, producers, actors with established quotes....
-
Plus, Cavill, who was relatively unknown before Man of Steel, got millions for his Superman debut movie.
-
Again, you're oversimplifying a business model and comparing apples to oranges. This will not encourage studios to take chances.

Uhm Robert Downey Junior only got 500k for Iron Man 1. So... 300k is pretty fair.
-
He was also coming up from a troubled and unreliable past.
-
WRONG. Totally sober for years prior to Iron Man. Coming off oscar nomination for best supporting in Tropic Thunder also before Iron Man.
-
Memories of his troubles were strong & he had many unfortunate relapses. Iron Man is what made studios really believe he turned it around.
-
This is just not an accurate take at all. Sorry. You're actually wrong. No gray area here.
-
There are many gray areas in life, if you choose to acknowledge their existence.
