Many complicated reasons exist for why cops are routinely found not-guilty. The most important? THE LAW. Let break it down.https://twitter.com/ShaunKing/status/875806137802776578 …

there is an inherent bias jurors feel toward a cop on trial as opposed to a black man from the streets- & yes the law gives much deference.

the laws are just reflections of our society run by white men- legislators and judges - until that changes it will never change.

Thank you for all that you do, Shaun. While the
#PhilandoCastile decision is sickening, people like you make me want to keep fighting.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Unacceptable. The standard for police officer is so low, almost impossible for them to be liable.

#PhilandoCastile was racially profiled & murdered for reaching for his ID after telling the cop about his open carry permit & legal gun -
The cop didn't even call for medical assistance. We all saw it.

No doubt the Supreme Court has routinely failed the citizenry in favor of the police. Their errant decisions have cost lives.

...your imagination would be far less harmful without a gun: how about changing job, or remain a police officer, but behind a desk?

But it can't be right to imagine a threat just because a person is black.

I agree....but here's the problem. There's no prosecutorial appeal from trial level. So for it to go to SCOTUS, you'd need a conviction.
-
So essentially, we'd have to have a conviction of a killer cop, who then wins on initial appeal, and then prosecutors can appeal upwards.
-
Needless to say, TN v Garner puts in place a really bad law that is hard to undo through the courts.
