The jury system is absurd. All cases should be tried before a panel of expert judges or professional jurists.

This is why intelligent people should not try to "get out" of jury duty. You're needed there.

I had my work try to make me skip jury duty and then got mad when I said it was my civic duty. They tried to make me take leave.

"A jury of ones peers" is apparently people who have no clue to understanding addiction, fear, or racism. How fortunate they are.
