My sister is a cop and it's pretty intense to hear about what she has to deal with. I think this is a good approach. To show they are understood... to validate. I think that could be a way to build bridges.

I think either they are criminals within the department OR they were required to do or accept illegal things done to the innocent. Their consciousness caused suicide.

Emotional intelligence lacks in the force in many ways than one. For the health of the people that they are suppose to serve and for themselves.

More deaths are associated with suicide for firefighters and police officers than deaths on the job.

Mental health and suicide is also a big problem generally, not just inside the police

In a society where people call out those they disagree with by maligning their mental health, Twitter being a major place where this happens, seeking mental health support ends up seeming shameful and humiliating, not helpful

To "take one's own life" -- to seize one's own existence -- is our first natural right! If your mythology considers it damnable, too bad for you. But STOP labeling it sick or weak or aberrant. We own our selves, & it is _reasonable_ to decide when we have had enough.
