It’s because the everyday assumption continues to be “I’d vote for Bernie, but he could never beat Trump” when, in fact, for years on end Bernie has always polled VERY well against him. I hear people say this daily.

Gotta say that I *never* hear this. Most folks that I know/have canvassed 1) plan to vote blue no matter who & 2) still have a few candidates that they like, with maybe one or two top faves. But all think it is early & less engaged folks are ‘aware’ but not at all ‘deciding.’
Furthermore what NSilver Just implied is also problematic. Sanders is consistanty ahead of Warren...but apparently not visible because people omit that part.... kind of like ignoring the existance of #538 ... Is that site still up Nate?

Bernie is not going to be the Democratic nominee. When that becomes an irrefutable fact for everyone, we need to rally around the actual nominee to defeat Trump. That’s what matters. The Democratic nominees are not far apart on policies and positions.

There are way better ways to make the argument than to point out, “ We’re almost as strong against Trump as Biden.”
But that's not the point, is it? Theyre both beating Trump, Biden consistently more comfortably.
Have you seen Biden lately? He couldn't remember Obama's name on more than one occasion, forgot what state he was in, and has trouble putting together a series of meaningful coherent sentences. You think his numbers won't go down once the public at large realizes this?
