You both said legalizing marijuana was a serious legislative priority this year, but here we are, the final day of the session, with Democrats controlling the whole government, and no bill has passed.
Please get this done. Extend the session.
For the first time in a generation, Democrats control New York's Governorship, Assembly, and Senate.
10 states + DC have now legalized marijuana.
But here we are, with New York in a complete holding pattern.
It's an embarrassment.

..... have stated that they plan to opt out of any legalization. From that perspective, why should any of the Long Island Senators opt to vote for a bill that will ultimately have no effect on Long Island communities?
I'll answer that question: Because government isn't just about what people want, it's about respecting the freedoms of non-violent individuals.

I think the wiping of records is state-wide. It's only commercial sales that have the opt-out. Possession will still be legal on LI too. This is about cops who are very important donors on LI influening politicians because they like arrests and asset seizures.
There are more states other than new York that need this too!!!

No wonder people are so sick of both political parties. I want to see action from the Democrats! Don’t delay doing what’s right to start to repair some of the harm done by unjust enforcement of outdated and unnecessary marijuana laws.
