All day long, my daughter sent me article after article she found from April of 1989 from the @NYTimes & @NYPost & @NYDailyNews where each paper was absolutely brutal in their depiction and premature conviction of five boys who did not do what each paper said they did.
My son, also 17, is headed to college and plans to be a lawyer. After watching When They See Us, he's now planning to be a public defender. #lifechanging

All NYC papers were complicit. They used the word, wilding to describe the boys’ behavior as animalistic. A word that some of the boys that they interviewed only used to express that they were hanging out.
