I was a kid in North Jersey at the time and coverage of the Central Park Jogger case was inescapable. They were always talking about “wilding” and how that was how the kids described what they did

I was in NY at the time and I remember vividly reading an article in Newsweek about the scourge of black boys wilding, calling on the black community to address their barbarism (I paraphrase) and asking where are the black dads? This case made me hate America. Little has changed.

After watching the series was trying to remember the facts that came out back then. Had no idea they did not even know each other or that there was no physical evidence linking them to the crime. All you really heard was that they confessed to the crimes.
