In article after article they refer to these 5 boys, first and foremost, as fully and completely guilty.

I know we're holding the police and prosecutors accountable for what they did to these five exonerated boys, but THE ENTIRE CITY piled up on them.
Every media outlet (except for @NYAmNews) pronounced them guilty, broke protocols and leaked their names, and so much more.
Has the City of New York every apologized to the Five Exonerated men formerly known as the Central Park Five? They should. A settlement is not an apology. So many complicit parties caused their pain.
All day long, my daughter sent me article after article she found from April of 1989 from the @NYTimes & @NYPost & @NYDailyNews where each paper was absolutely brutal in their depiction and premature conviction of five boys who did not do what each paper said they did.
I agree with your thread. But, what is the press doing today? Same shit, different day. No matter which paper you write for or which station you report from, you should be held accountable for your words.

Not the 'entire city." I didn't believe it. I couldn't prove their innocence but, I couldn't believe they committed those acts.
