The principal later tried to play off her mic cutting out on technical difficulties. Here we clearly see him telling the sound man to cut her mic. In the end he accomplished the exact opposite of his intentions. We are proud of you @ItsRoohaHaghar!!pic.twitter.com/8fzpZ3ATIn

I love this. Here is the rest of the speech @ItsRoohaHaghar was scheduled to deliver. Imagine being so afraid of her naming Tamir & Trayvon that they cut off these compassionate and courageous words. She’s a leader.pic.twitter.com/QEpKfS5qWh

I'd like to know why the principal decided to cut her off. Based on hand signals, this was likely something for which he & the sound engineer prepared. Why was that? Did he know what was coming? What was the standard for appropriate content? Who set it? It was a lovely speech.

Whoever cut off her mic and signaled to do so basically tried to undo 12 years of education for those students. Thank you for finishing your speech @Knowlesitall did you see this or hear about it?

This is one of the reasons I became a teacher - to support and celebrate brave, intelligent young people who can inspire positive change. Shame on the principal for silencing her because the truth is unpleasant.

So the principal had a code to cut off statement that he deemed unworthy. I do understand that yelling fire is inappropriate, or spouting hate messages. Saying something about Tamir is out of bounds?

So sad that her class was denied the opportunity to hear such a meaningful and important message. It was not inflammatory . . . it was inspirational and aspirational. I look forward to hearing her share her voice many times in the future!

He should be fired. They get to review these speeches, but this was a very fine speech and he had no right to insist on the edit of Tamir Rice, etc. He should be fired
