I don't disagree with him being held accountable. However, he did not go into the situation with the intent of killing & he showed genuine remorse. On the other hand, we have seen that the intent to kill POC by police is there w/no remorse. We are seeing an imbalance of justice.

The reality is if he were anything other than a Black Muslim and she was anything other than a white woman who walked up on him, stealth, in a dark alley in middle of the night he'd be a acquitted and the shooting would have been ruled accidentally justified!
-
I agree. Without question. Yet all cops who do this should be convicted.

I keep saying all they have to do is pass a moratorium on PAID LEAVE when there’s an officer involved shooting & upon conviction, their pension is surrendered. You’ll immediately see downward trend in unlawful shootings. This is common sense legislation w no due process issues.

Hit them in the pocket.. works everytime

Clear as day. Imagine how many lives would be saved. And if they stop killing people they’ll stop paying out millions in settlements.

It just so happened that justice was done when the cop was a Black Muslim. Let’s be honest - if he had been Officer McNoor, he would have walked.

Yes to this, and also, we need to do something fundamental so that the first response from police isn't shooting folks (who almost always are of color)....but yes, accountability is always critical

Hate cops. Killed my sib but must agree, ALL COPS BREAKING THE LAW NEED TO BE ACCOUNTABLE! Since police, should be MORE accountable!! Accountability in this country is race based (just like EVERYTHING else) and that needs to stop!!!

Agree. Noor took complete responsibility, stating it is his burden to bear that he took this life, knowing instantly he was wrong even though he initially perceived a “threat”. I’d point out, he shot once. How many cops guilty of outright murder have done so w a single shot?

He’s being logically consistent. Also, a lot of these Black cops have the exact same worldview as their white colleagues. Here’s the black police chief of Portland bragging about how her officer beat up people who were protesting white nationalists.https://www.wweek.com/news/courts/2018/08/15/portland-police-chief-says-protesters-went-off-to-whine-and-complain-last-week-because-officers-kicked-your-butt/ …

True but if we’ve seen a hundred white cops going before him we’re not tryna see him be the one to go today.

Yeah, 12.5 is the average sentence for a cop murdering someone.
