What is the Federal Order of Police (FOP) doing to help weed out these racists?
It's time for us to retire the overstated myth of American police having a few bad apples. Hundreds of thousands of them are overtly, explicitly racist. When my daughter was in kindergarten another kid told her they wouldn't play with her because she was black. The kid's father was a San Francisco police officer.

The subject caught my attention as I have family in law enforcement and other family with connections to law enforcement. Their subsequent move to the hard right is disturbing to me.

Police work draws a particular "type": Authoritarian followers (most authoritarians aren't leaders). Combined w/ measurable chemical changes that happen when when someone holds a gun (increased testosterone/endorphines), it's like they're hooked on the power rush.

I work closely with law enforcement and from personal experience I have to agree with you. The majority of people I know in law enforcement are racist. They will tell you they are not but I have seen it first hand. And if they are not racist a lot are just plain bullies.

It should be law that anyone who loses a job from police misconduct is ineligible to ever work as a police officer anywhere, ever. So many of these 'bad apples' get shuffles from department to department spreading the rot everywhere they go.
