A new study of thousands of Facebook pages of American police officers found that at least 20% of current cops made overtly bigoted posts.
Once they retired the number jumped to 40%.

Those of us (white people) who have relatives who are cops can confirm this. We all know what’s said behind closed doors. I know it wasn’t just my family. We need to stop ignoring it, stop denying it and do everything we can to work against the system.
I'll be sure to let the black female members of my family, who have sons and daughters, and are proud LEOs know.

I would say due to the threat of the "Blue Line retaliation that would end a career, its an extremely racist, sexist, fraternity that needs to come to grips with what it has become!!! The facts are clear as day!
Gross but expected... these people are jaded by their work. People hate cops & instead of them channeling that to embed themselves in the community and earn their trust they invest in hate. They have the attitude of dudes that hate their retail job but w/better pay and more power

To be clear: 20% is not the percentage of racist current cops, just of those posting overly racist posts in Facebook
Police exist primarily to protect the property interests of the wealthy and to keep minorities in line. Is it any surprise racists would be attracted to such an occupation?
