I don't know that he thinks it's in the bag. I think he recognizes that he's a gaffe machine with no good policies, so, the more he exposes that, the more it hurts him. He just banks off "I'm Obama's VP" - it seems like a purposeful anti-gaffe, anti-shit idea strategy.

imo that's what they *have* to say because they can't say "We can't expose him to people often because he makes lots of gaffes and has bad policies." People recognize a lack of events, so they need to make up some BS reason why. That's the least bad reason they thought of.

I don’t agree with it but it’s actually a smart strategy for him. He’s in 1st place now out of 23 candidates. If he was polling 10th right now we’d see him a lot more. He’s run for this office twice before and never got past the primary stage.

Honestly, I think you're right. Everytime his handlers let him out, he puts his foot in his mouth, or does something creepy again. The more ppl see him, the more they see just why he failed twice before.

They're trying to limit the exposure just like they did with Hillary, but the problem with the Hillary was is it really backfired.

Exactly. It makes it look like his ppl have no confidence in him to perform well, or that he's so old he can't do all these events without it killing him. It doesn't help when he does speak he tends to meander off topic like the elderly who are losing their mental faculties.

The thing is is it might actually work in this case because people are being willfully blinded because he was Obama's vice president. So there letting him get away with it because they just want to go back to before trump.

It's definitely going to work with a disturbingly large percentage of the population, but his glamour is fading the more ppl like Warren, Bernie, & AOC call out his record. He's fully on the defense in the media w/major news defending things like his crime bill.
