The problem was that he, like many of his surrogates, did so begrudgingly; still fuming about how she "stole" the nomination from him, and framing support for her as being only marginally better than Trump. That's likely why 13% of Bernie supporters actually DID vote for Trump.

Given that this percentage is *lower* than the likely percentage of cross-over voters in 2008, he did a better job of convincing people to stay with the party than Clinton herself.
-
Many Bernie voters were not historically Dem voters or they were new/lapsed voters. They would not have voted HRC regardless of who was in the primary with her. The reason a lot of people voted at all *was* Bernie. He brought some people into the process that HRC couldn’t keep.
-
HRC ran a sloppy, uninspired campaign. She (and the DNC) did sell it as more of a coronation of her than an actual campaign. BUT...I was raised to vote *every time*, whether I found the candidate engaging & “exciting” or not. It’s so disappointing that so many so easily tune out.
-
I agree, but when the system is this broken, your life doesn’t seem to change regardless of who’s in office, and big money and gerrymandering controls government 1000x more than voters do, I understand why people think there is no point. That’s what they want us to think.

Bernie campaigned more for Hillary than she did for herself. She even thanked him for it. This is after she & DNC withheld his voter data, limited debates, told MSM to lie about him, broke fundraising laws to outraise him. Bernie is a saint to have done what he did for Hillary.
-
Literally none of this is true. No offense.

In general, I've admired
#Bernie's restraint & graciousness in steering clear of attacks on other candidates, but I have to say I'm happy to see him calling out people who are blatantly lying about him like this obnoxious woman.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I wonder if
@TheDemocrats &#DNC realize how many voters they're alienating with these lies. It's clear they don't care if they orchestrate another Trump victory as long as they keep#Bernie from getting the nomination, but in the process they're also orchestrating their demise.Thanks. I don’t believe that
@HillaryClinton@DNC@davidbrockdc will ever acknowledge the damage they have done to the party by punching left against her opponent and manufacturing false narratives in order 2fvr her campaign

How bout his supporters?
-
Most of us voted for her (over 80% actually) specifically because Bernie wanted us to. I never would have even considered voting for her if Bernie hadn’t convinced me.
-
It should have been 100%.
-
.But in 2016, 4.4 million people who were galvanized by those issues and that candidate stayed home. White voters won’t reliably turn out just because a candidate is white, but they will come out for a black candidate who seems to stand for something.
