I see the battle for the Democratic nomination about a battle between two generations that see the world VERY differently. It's shocking how differently older voters that are 65+ see the candidates than younger voters that are 18-35. //THREAD

When I study what happened this weekend around Europe, mainstream, moderate politicians lost in a MAJOR way. It's not what people want. And without fail, all over Europe, people rejected middle of the road parties and middle of the road politicians. It's historic.

Imagine this... The nation CURRENTLY has active movements for A Green New Deal A $15 minimum wage Medicare For All The end to never-ending wars Major justice reforms Comprehensive immigration reform IMAGINE choosing the nominee for President who doesn't support those things.

That ANYBODY looks at what we are experiencing in this country (and around the world) right now and determines that what we need to do is meet people in the middle is astounding to me. Only a first class level of aloofness could see 2019 and decide to go to the middle.

no superdelegates mean he could win this time right?
-
They moved the superdelegates to the second round.. Now they’re flooding the primary with 24 candidates to make sure it gets to the second round so they can choose again...
-
what if he outright wins the 1st
-
He needs 50% of the votes.. that means we gotta turn out in droves.. With 24 different candidates I don’t see him getting 50% it will likely go to the second round exactly how they want..

Us old people (over 35 should still have a voice too or are we now seeing us “old folks” shouldn’t have a say?). How about we find a candidate that we all can get behind. This post seems awfully divisive. And Hills won the popular vote so...

I so agree with you. And it's hard for me to understand how they can not see the importance of the younger voters being included. They want something different. Change is not scary to them.

Same old same old is terrifying, it's left them nothing but bleakness.

But…but…but she won the popular vote, and it was just that nasty Electoral College that prevented her coronation. I know! Let's launch a campaign to abolish the EC and make the election for the most important office like when we vote for prom queen. /sarc

Too be fair Hilary won the popular vote even after the younger people decided to throw a tantrum and not vote in the general
