Context 1991 NYC murders = 2,154(!) 2019 NYC murders = 289 (!!!) A lot easier to judge a crime bill’s unintended negative side effects now that all the intended positive side effects have been forgotten, unappreciated &/or taken for granted.

The crime bill did not actually lead to lower crime for New York. In fact, as statistics will show the crime rate was already dropping from its peak. In addition, you could argue if we had tackled the crack epidemic same way as opioids we probably would have seen trend earlier.

The other reason Anita Hill, people forget if not for Biden, Clarence Thomas is not on the Supreme court right now. One of the most infuriating judges in the history of the supreme court. At least the other conservatives make sense as originalists. I don't get Thomas at all.

I don’t have any candidates on the democratic side that I would sit out the one chance to defeat this clown over. Biden is far from my top choice & I’m fairly certain he won’t be the nominee so I’m not concerned TBH
