1991. 3 years before the 1994 Crime Bill became law, before Bill Clinton was ever elected President, @JoeBiden proposes giving the death penalty to so many crimes that he lost count.
Here he quotes a newspaper that says he gives the death penalty to "everything but jaywalking."pic.twitter.com/IjTbLHBs4Z

Bernie’s on the right side of history as usual even 28 years ago.
-
He voted for this bill

-
The only reason he voted for it was because they added the Violence Against Women Act to it.

The more I listen to Biden the more convinced I am that he's actually a Republican

Then he turned around and voted for the 94 crime bill
-
The only reason he voted for it was because they added the Violence Against Women Act and some gun reform to it.
-
He voted for earlier versions of the bill before either of those provisions were added. He supported voting for the bill afterwards as well. https://web.archive.org/web/20061018180921/http:/www.bernie.org/truth/crime.html …

I don't know what website this is but can you send me a link to another source? I've only ever seen him voting no in 1991 and yes in 1994. Also, what other measures were bundled with these bills?
-
The bill wasn't all bad, it's blamed from Mass incarceration, but that was already a huge problem by this point, it did nothing to stop it though and probably made it a little worse, but 1990s America had peak crime rates, so everyone was looking for a solution.

Oh good - we're sowing seeds of division among the most popular Democratic candidates supporters again. THIS IS FINE.

-
Yes. It's called a primary.

WHOEVER RUNS AGAINST TRUMP GETS MY VOTE. PERIOD. And I hope whoever gets that Dem nomination - and if it IS Biden - I hope he gets YOUR vote too.
-
sure but we're talking about the Primaries here. Now is the time to prop up the candidate we actually want, not just the candidate we don't NOT want.

Bernie's education proposal is the equivalent of the crime bill. That bill was done with police unions. Bernie's education position locks families living in education deserts into subpar schools, and he's doing it on behalf of teachers unions.
-
Can you say more about Bernie's plan? Or tell me where to find out more? Thanks!
