A lot of lies, particularly from @JoeBiden, are being told about the 1994 Crime Bill. He was the primary author of it and advocate for it.
He said this week that it didn't impact mass incarceration.
Watch this scene from 13th where they make clear that it did exactly that.pic.twitter.com/Up4YaSyUp6

It's not just Biden created the crime bill - it's that he is DEFENDING IT today I want you to watch
@JoeBiden THIS WEEK tell two blatant lies about the 1994 Crime Bill. Lie #1: The bill only impacted federal crimes Lie #2: The crime bill did not make mass incarceration worsepic.twitter.com/coNiJyjEYqShow this thread -

@JoeBiden says the 1994 Crime Bill had NOTHING to do w/ states. He's even having his surrogates go out and say the exact same lie. But I need you to hear 1995@JoeBiden. He literally WROTE THE LAWS making sure that states were required to be harsh in order to get funding.pic.twitter.com/eYYRpYgC4DJoe Biden Bragging That States Will Now All Have Mandatory MinimumsThis week Joe Biden said that his 1994 Crime Bill DID NOT IMPACT STATES. It was primarily for the states and he literally wrote the laws making sure states had to follow the law to receive funding.Show this thread -
Yesterday something truly painful happened. A dozen activists wrote me saying they were sick to their stomachs seeing it. The Biden campaign asked
@SymoneDSanders to say that the crime bill only impacted states. At 1:37 the anchor called their bluff.pic.twitter.com/tKupcvBf7SShow this thread -
Watch
@RepBobbyRush He is the congressmen for the South Side of Chicago. Watch him, nearly in tears, say the 1994 Crime Bill was the worst thing to happen to the Black community the past 50 years. And listen to his deep remorse for voting for it.pic.twitter.com/PedaRJjxKE

The Remorse of Congressman Bobby Rush on His Vote for the Crime BillI need you to see this video. It is probably the most honest, most transparent moment you will ever seen from a politician on the true impact of Joe Biden's 1994 Crime Bill. It's honest and painful.Show this thread

@BernieSanders voted for it. And please for the love of god, don’t feed us the line “it was part of a larger bill” BS. He could’ve voted no. - 1 more reply

@shaunking Please stop this. How have people learned nothing from 2016? You won’t be able to take this stuff back if he’s the nominee. -
Good, Joe never takes anything back either.

Truly amazing, the confidence with which a person can boldly lie when they've convinced themselves of a thing. Biden may be charismatic as all hell, but he's a ideologue, smarter than Trump, but no less stupid. If hindsight is 20/20, it's time to admit that the law is an ass.

He seems more proud of the fact that they pissed off the GOP than anything else to do with the bill This was one of the first major fruits of the neoliberal coup that Clinton's presidency signified He's showing us how proud he is to be a conservative

Despite agreeing with you as I typically do wholeheartedly, in terms of metaphor usage would not denigrate a dog breed if I were composing this sentence.

Please do not insult pit bulls like that. They're sweet dogs who got a bad rap in light of the Joe Biden comparison.
