What Rashida Tlaib said, and it is the absolute truth, is that Palestinians were displaced in a very ugly painful way to provide a homeland for Jewish people seeking refuge from the Holocaust, To deny that painful truth about Palestinian displacement is ahistorical.
We must be able to speak accurately about the rights of Palestinians without being slandered as anti-Semitic. I fight anti-Semitism AND stand up for the human rights and dignity of Palestinians. I track Neo-Nazis as a hobby AND fight against the human rights abuses of Israel.
I'd also point out, the historical events leading up to the initial conflict was not "Jew" vs "Arabs" / "Israeli" vs "Palestinian". There were many other countries, factions, organizations, corporations & trade relationships that a conflict benefited. Today's labels are reductive
I say Jew vs Arab, rather than Muslim, because at the time, that is how the two occupants referred to each other, before the war started.

Absolutely, criticism of Israel is not defacto antisemitism. But there is a blurry line between criticizing Israel and using the tropes that have led to pogroms and the holocaust. There are times when critics of Israel cross that line.

Middle easterners aren't exactly fond of Palestinians or Israelis, but, the citizens manage to get along with each other. It's unnecessary war-mongering from their leaders. They should make Jerusalem independent like D.C., with all entities on a ruling counsel.
Maybe the Arab States who refused the refugee populations created by a wars they twice initiated to exterminate Israel deserve some blame too?

As a Jew, people are horrified how disgusted I am about the treatment of the Palestinians and I can’t even speak in their defense. Why is speaking up off limits? It’s ironic too that the same people that would hate Jews would also hate Palestinians. We’re in this together.
