This new national poll is deeply revealing. Biden is up on Bernie 33%-25%, but it's what's inside that is interesting. Voters ages 18-29 support Bernie over Biden an astounding 41% to 11%. Voters ages 30-49 support Bernie over Biden by 3%.https://emersonpolling.reportablenews.com/pr/may-national-poll-biden-back-in-the-lead-for-the-democratic-nomination …

You're talking about the regular season vs. the playoffs. You don't make it to the playoffs based on your record against teams in your own conference, you gotta win the league. Hillary won. End of sentence. If you can't win the south, you can't win the primary. End of sentence.
-
I am saying that it is a dangerous proposition for candidates to win the nomination time after time because they sweep the South - then get their asses handed to them in the South in the general - where they lose the electoral college.

The south are very unsophisticated voters. They pull the D straight ticket lever then go home. Not one ounce of thought. They vote how they’re told.

No, not strange. Democrats rarely win the southern states. I would think a journalist would know that.

You’re missing his point.

No, I am not.

His point is that the southern states shouldn’t be as big of a consideration in the primary as they are.
-
And that is dismissive of the black vote which is integral to having Democratic majorities in the House.

Yeah because the Dem Primary isn’t the general election
-
If you can't win Mississippi, you can't win Chicago. The South is the de facto "Black Vote" primary. If you want to win the midwest, you gotta win the Great Migration states where all those midwestern black folks came from.

I agree Sanders has to do better with Black voters he lost them by 50pts in the last primary without them he’s dust
