What Democrats are basically telling me is that I should ignore Biden's worst stances from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000's and instead only see him through Obama colored glasses. We are basically supposed to view and grade Biden through the emotional lens of Obama's love of him.
I know Joe Biden was the primary architect of mass incarceration, that he fought like hell for it, and defended it for years. I know it impacted millions of people & those laws are still in effect today. But listen, Obama fucking loves this guy, and really, that's what matters.
I call it the Obama Curve. It's when you have been blessed by Obama in some way, particularly having served with him in office, your demonstrated political views & history don't actually get graded & scored on their own merit, but get scored on a favorable Obama Curve.
It's wild to me that ANYONE thinks it's strange that a lifelong justice reform advocate would find being THE MODERN ARCHITECT OF MASS INCARCERATION disqualifying. Here's what I know - if Mitch McConnell was the architect of mass incarceration you'd never hear the end of it.

Agreed. But what if it comes down to Biden v. Trump, is Shaun comfortable voting for Trump? If he spends all his time criticizing Biden it'll be hard to motivate his followers to vote at all. Not asking him to support Joe blindly, just promote his opponents instead.

Nope. This is why we have primaries. Biden is probably not the guy. If he cannot take the heat of people delving into his past positions, and a bruising primary, he definitely is not the guy. Let the process play out.
Not this Democrat!! I get it that folks are scared and wishing we could return to relative safety of Obama years, but we cannot go back! We did this once with HRC who was Obama's Sec of State. It's not enough!! We need bold, fresh policy ideas carried by fearless warriors.
