Not hard to see which one is a status quo centrist and which is progressive working for the ppl. #Bernie2020pic.twitter.com/8UIzac1cb3
The establish dems all secretly agree with what GOPs are doing, that’s why they’re not taking steps to change anything. Cause they all are corrupt.
Each and every one of them and their donors have benefited from Trump’s tax cuts. Why would they want to win in 2020
They literally take the same lesson from every election (move right!), win or loss, blowout or squeaker. They aren't learning so much as superimposing what they want the lesson to be onto whatever happens.
A power struggle of "left vs right" within Democratic Party is causing this distraction
Even more generally: small-bore, incremental ideas do not win presidential elections. Narrative-free candidacies do not inspire turnout.
Never underestimate the ability of the DNC establishment to be short-sighted and myopic in their vision for the political future.
They would rather lose to Trump than win with a progressive. Trump continues status quo, shields Dems from the crap happening here that they contribute to.
It's 2016 all over again. The only hope at this point is if progressives seriously embarrass their establishment opponents on the debate stages because the media is already rigging things for Biden
It's not that they haven't learned. It's that they don't care. They care more about keeping their donor funded lifestyle than winning back the white house.
Agreed. Also, the lack of a sense of urgency is really telling: most establishment Democrats have done very well by Trump, at least financially.
Agree. Just look at the 2018 midterms. It's all the proof u need that America is ready for progressive politicians.
2016 was literally the test case for this! Maybe it's time to try an alternative (i.e. #progressive) strategy!!
Bernie as the nominee would be a historic error.
dems used to be the party of the working man...we need to get back to that
So many people who could have voted in 2016 chose to stay home. I think, more than anything, Dems need a candidate THEY are passionate about; that will be the difference maker.
I am too. @dnc really needs to stop pushing these corporate democrats. They learned nothing from the HRC fiasco.
DNC doesn’t care if trump wins. They prefer that to a progressive. It’s only about fund raising for them. With trump in wh, they can raise a lot more money.
Excellent point.
