Meet Kendrick Castillo. Just 3 days from graduating high school, he was an award winning member of his robotics team. With no regard for his own life, Kendrick Castillo charged the school shooters yesterday -giving his classmates time to run & hide & escape. 8 more were still shot. But it cost him his life. Goddamnit. Our kids are making decisions cops and soldiers do.
Before this even happened I'll bet Kendrick had thought about it and decided, "If this happens, I'll go after them. Even if it costs my life." There are thousands more across the country who've already made that decision as well. This is a choice for soldiers, not children.

To the president and members of our government. This is the gentleman who should receive the presidential medal of freedom award. Just saying. His selfless act saved lives. And cost him his. Doesn’t matter the age. Or nationality. Let’s honor him rightfully so.

Absolute hero! Hands down the bravest guy I’ve ever seen! It’s upsetting that this is what is happening in your country (I’m Irish) it’s not right he had to do this. But he did and that makes him a hero. I only wish he survived to be known as this hero.

The solution is primarily to greatly expand accessible healthcare so the severely mentally ill have a chance at recovery, & to crack down on gun laws so murder weapons stay out of as many irresponsible hands as possible. Unfortunately ppl here value owning guns over kids’ lives

Soon we will have more plaques commemorating our children heroism in school than children. There is no bottom to this, how are children allowed access? Many situations have been thwarted but it seems hard to keep track of angry and vengeful kids.
A wall of names of children lost. Just saying. That would bring awareness and dialogue. #sad it comes to that.

Castillo? It sounds «inmigrant». Maybe his family crossed the border before the wall building ... he gave his life to.protect his classmates ... an exemplary citizen! This proves that it doesnt matter where you come from but who you are.
